World number one Nelly Korda won the LPGA Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba in Mexico by four shots after going 69 holes without a bogey before her first bogey of the weekend on the final hole. [1]
Arpichaya Yubol finished alone in second place, four shots behind Korda, while Yu Liu was third, one shot further back. [1]
Korda, 27, said she was enjoying the run. “I’m just enjoying myself and I love the competition. I love travelling to places like Mexico, all over the world. I’m just having fun,” she said. After the final-hole slip, she added: “Golf humbled me on the last hole and I made my first bogey on the weekend.” [1]
The win came a week after Korda captured the Chevron Championship by five shots. She said after the latest victory: “Overall I’m so happy. I played some really good golf. You put in the work. Everyone out here puts in the work. Sometimes it works out.” [1]
