Editorial Policy
How we select stories, use sources, apply AI, handle copyright, and deal with disputes.
1. Story selection & aggregation
Every published article aggregates multiple publishers' reports of the same event — never a rewrite of a single source. Semantic clustering matches the same event across publishers; we require at least one high-trust source or two ordinary sources before publishing.
2. Facts & attribution
We only publish facts that appear in source reports. Each fact-bearing sentence carries a citation marker like [s1] or [s1,s3], and the "Sources" list at the bottom of every article links back to the originals.
3. Use of AI
- Used for: fact extraction, timeline structuring, citation tracking, draft writing, headline and lead drafting.
- Not used for: inventing facts, inserting opinion, machine-translating to bypass attribution, mass-generating low-quality pages.
- The underlying model is from the Anthropic Claude family.
4. Source selection criteria
We prefer publishers with named editorial teams, accountability, and a track record of original reporting. Every source in our system carries a trust score (1–10) that affects clustering weight and solo-publish eligibility.
5. Errors & corrections
See our Corrections Policy. In short: spot an error → email us → we verify and update with a correction note.
6. Copyright & fair use
We take only short excerpts (fair use / fair dealing) and always link to the original. Rights holders who believe a specific excerpt exceeds fair use can contact [email protected]; we respond within 48 hours.
7. Interests & disclosure
Rainsnews is independently operated. We accept no editorial direction from advertisers, political parties, or government bodies. Any future revenue arrangements that could create the appearance of conflict will be disclosed on this page.
