Privacy Policy
Rainsnews respects your privacy. This page explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it. We try to collect as little as possible.
1. What we collect
- Access logs: your IP address, User-Agent, timestamp, request path and HTTP status — captured automatically by the web server, used for operational diagnostics and abuse prevention. Rotated and overwritten after 30 days.
- Emails you send us: when you write to editorial@ / corrections@ / [email protected], we retain the message content to be able to reply. Kept up to 12 months.
- Cookies: we set no tracking or advertising cookies. If you reach the site through
a CDN (e.g. Cloudflare), the CDN's own security cookies (such as
__cf_bm) may briefly appear; these protect against bots and are not tied to your identity.
2. What we don't collect
- Account registration details (reading the site requires no account).
- Precise geolocation (beyond the coarse country signal that any CDN edge naturally has).
- Cross-site tracking IDs, advertising identifiers.
3. Third-party services
- CDN (Cloudflare or similar): serves static assets and protects against DDoS. See their privacy policy.
- Source publishers: when you click a source link at the bottom of an article, you leave to a third-party site governed by its own privacy policy.
- Embedded images: we download and host all images ourselves, so your browser is not exposed to the originating publisher's domain.
4. How we use the data
Access logs are used only to (1) keep the site running (debug, performance), and (2) prevent abuse (identify bot / scraper attacks). We do not personalise, advertise to, or sell access data.
5. Your rights
Because we don't collect accounts or long-term identifiers, most rights are not engaged. If they are:
- Access / deletion: email [email protected] with the IP address(es) and time window that would identify the relevant log entries.

6. Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Material changes are also flagged on the home page for 30 days.
