Hannah Cox has completed 100 consecutive marathons across India, covering about 4,200 km along a 19th century British salt tax route she set out to retrace from the Attari-Wagah border in October 2025. [1]

Cox said her challenge was partly about connecting with her Indian heritage and partly about raising £1 million for environmental charities. [1] She started the run on 26 October 2025 and spent the journey with a support team and a van. [1]

She had not run until 18 months before the challenge, when she joined a running club in Manchester to begin preparing. [1] Her build-up included running 20 km every weekday for 20 days and seven marathons in seven days across the UK. [1]

The route took her through long stretches of monotonous highways as well as difficult roads in India. [1] Cox said: "Everyone tried to put me off at first - people just didn't believe I would actually do it." [1]

The feat came after a strict campaign of preparation and a 100-day run that crossed a historic route tied to British colonial taxation. [1]
