Israeli soldiers have killed 3 teenagers and maimed many more in Tel Askar, a hill area near the Askar refugee camp in the north of the occupied West Bank near Nablus, according to a report. [1]

The report says the violence has continued since Oct. 7, 2023, when Hamas led an attack on Israel and Israel began its war on Gaza. It names Tel Askar as one of the places where young Palestinians have been shot. [1]

Amir Othman, 18, was shot in the leg in Tel Askar last January and now has a disability, the report says. Othman said, "My kneecap and my thighbone were shattered," and added, "I couldn’t feel my leg anymore, so I thought I had lost it." [1]

He also said, "The blood felt like boiling water spilling out of my leg." The report says soldiers blocked ambulances from reaching him while he was bleeding. [1]

The account says Mohammed Abu Haneen was killed by the army at nearly the same spot just over a year before Othman was wounded. It says the pattern has left families in the camp facing repeated deaths and permanent injuries. [1]

Amjad Refaee, another witness cited in the report, said of the shooting pattern, "they shoot to kill, or cause disability." [1]
