The Blood of Dawnwalker, a dark fantasy vampire role-playing game with no main quest, will let players go from the Prologue area straight to Brencis' castle and try to defeat him immediately. Lead quest designer Rafał Jankowski said it is "absolutely possible to skip everything" and that the content is there waiting for players. [1]
Jankowski said, "It is possible to miss a lot of content," adding that after the Prologue there is nothing stopping players from rushing to Brencis' castle to face the vampire and his officers. He said the route is difficult, but "physically possible." [1]
The developers said they expect the shortcut to be punishing enough that they do not encourage players to try it on a first playthrough. Jankowski said, "If you are skilled enough..." the route may be doable, but the team did not test it personally and is not sure how hard it will be. [1]
The game is built around an overarching goal with a 30-day and 30-night time limit and is expected to last about 50 hours. Skipping ahead would mean missing many quests and other parts of the game, Jankowski said. [1]
The studio said it hopes players will attempt the direct run soon after release, when enough skilled or patient players are available to try it. [1]
