Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said there is "nothing to announce" specifically about an LA Noire sequel after questions about the 15-year-old game during a recent Iicon summit. [1]
Zelnick said that if there were news about LA Noire, Rockstar would make the announcement, not him. He said, "There's nothing to announce on LA Noire specifically" and added, "if there were, it would be Rockstar announcing it, not me." [1]
He also said Take-Two is "looking at doing something in the future with all of our intellectual property" and that the company's teams are "always looking at what we have and we're always thinking about it." [1]
The comments come after Take-Two said last year that Rockstar had acquired Video Games Deluxe and would rename the studio Rockstar Australia. Video Games Deluxe is led by Brendan McNamara, who directed LA Noire, and the studio developed a VR version of the game for Rockstar in 2017. [1]
Rockstar has not ruled out a follow-up in the past. In 2012, it said it would not "count out the possibility" of another LA Noire game. Eurogamer reviewed the original title in 2011. [1]
