Rebel Wolves co-founder Tomasz Tinc said "nothing that's in The Blood of Dawnwalker was created using generative AI, nothing. People with their blood and flesh made this game from the beginning till the end. I just wanted to make this 1000 percent clear" [1].

The studio, which has around 150 to 160 employees, clarified it did use some generative AI technology during early development to generate voice samples for testing dialogue before final recordings were made, according to co-founder Konrad Tomaszkiewicz [1]. Tomaszkiewicz said he believes companies "should" use generative AI "in a way which helps people to work, not [to] replace the people" [1].

Tomaszkiewicz also highlighted the cost challenges of RPG voice-over work, noting the game’s dialogue is recorded in six to eight languages [1].

Eurogamer recently visited Rebel Wolves in Poland and asked Tomaszkiewicz again about AI use in The Blood of Dawnwalker, following earlier conversations last year [1]. The studio strongly emphasized their creative process relied on human input throughout, with AI tools only assisting in preliminary voice testing.

Rebel Wolves’ position distinguishes between creative content generation, which it says was done solely by people, versus limited use of AI for technical testing purposes early in development. The co-founders underscored the human-driven nature of the game’s production.

No new developments on the game’s release schedule or features were reported during the recent visit.
