Digital Bros has acquired the full intellectual property rights to Wuchang: Fallen Feathers for about €4 million, or RMB 32 million, after the Chinese developer behind the game shut down. [1]

The Italian publisher said the deal gives it all revenue from the Soulslike title and full control over future decisions for the game. Digital Bros said securing the IP would help it make “timely decisions” on future development and related investments. [1]

Digital Bros also said the transaction locks in “full ownership of the IP” for the group, allowing it to keep all value generated over the game’s life and avoid future royalty payments to the developer. The company said it does not expect the purchase to have a significant impact on its current fiscal-year outlook. [1]

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers launched globally in July 2025 and drew a strong start on Steam, where it ranked among the platform’s top sellers and peaked at more than 130,000 concurrent players. [1]

The game has since sold more than 1 million copies and generated about €30 million in revenue, according to the facts provided. [1]

Developer Chengdu Lingzee closed after key senior staff left and the remaining team rejected a plan to turn the studio into a support developer. The acquisition gives Digital Bros ownership of a title that had already established a large commercial base before the studio’s closure. [1]

Digital Bros now controls all future plans for Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, while the company has said it expects no major hit to the fiscal-year business outlook already disclosed. [1]
