Monte Gallo will release Better Than Dead on Steam in Early Access on May 12, after first announcing the game last year. [1]
The studio says the game will arrive with a full campaign and then be improved and expanded with player feedback during the Early Access run. The Steam page says the team plans to "improve and expand it with player feedback". [1]
Early Access is planned to last six to 12 months. When the game leaves that phase, Monte Gallo says it is slated to add a harder mode called For Heaven, additional levels and the full launch's true ending. [1]
Better Than Dead is described as a photo-realistic bodycam FPS with Hong Kong action-thriller influences. The press release says it is "built around immediacy and tension" and that "Encounters are short, unforgiving, and decisive. Mistakes are costly. Success is earned." [1]
