Apple’s AirPods Max 2 keep the iconic look of the original 2020 model while adding improved noise canceling and a stronger Bluetooth connection, according to the review. [1]

The headphones stay instantly recognizable. They use milled aluminum, magnetic replaceable ear cups, a button and dial on the right ear cup, and the mesh headband Apple calls the canopy. The canopy helps them feel lighter, even though they are 2 ounces heavier than other headphones. [1]

Apple also expands the software side. The AirPods Max 2 add gesture controls, Adaptive Audio, Siri support and Live Translation. The review says those features give the headphones more day-to-day flexibility without changing the core design. [1]

Not every part improved. Battery life remains disappointing, and Apple still does not offer a customizable EQ. That leaves the headphones with a mix of premium hardware and some familiar limits. [1]

The AirPods Max 2 sell for $549, and they still come with a soft magnetic smart case that is meant to make them easier to carry by sliding the canopy onto your wrist. [1]
