Bellinger missed a home run on May 3 by inches, when a drive hit the top of the fence and would have given him his second straight game with a homer. He has hit all five of his home runs this season at Yankee Stadium, where he is again set to play on May 4 in the Bronx. [1]
Magliocca said Bellinger has a favorable matchup and strong hitting weather at home. He also pointed to opposing pitcher Shane Baz, who has fared worse against left-handed batters like Bellinger. Magliocca noted that Bellinger once hit a 99 mph exit-velocity homer off Baz. "Bellinger has found success in this matchup, as one of the few lefties to hit a bomb against him last year, with a home run that registered at 99 mph exit velocity.
