A New York transparency nonprofit has opened a Tribeca pop-up exhibit of about 3.5 million pages of Jeffrey Epstein-related files, bound into 3,437 volumes and stacked on shelves by number. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
The display is called “The Donald J. Trump and Jeffrey Epstein Memorial Reading Room.” Organizers also set up a section focused on Trump’s long relationship with Epstein. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
The exhibit uses Justice Department files that the group said were not directly open to the general public because some victim names were not fully redacted. Access is limited to certain professionals, including journalists and lawyers. [2, 3, 4, 5]
David Garrett said the group wanted to use the pop-up museum format to educate people about corruption and threats to democracy. He said, “We are a pro-democracy organization, with the goal of educating the public using these kinds of sort of pop-up museums and other in-real-life experiences to help people understand the corruption in the United States, the dangers to democracy.” He added that organizers sought to create “public outcry to have real accountability.” [2]
The website for the exhibit said, “When truth is printed and bound for you to see, it cannot be denied.” [2]
Reports said Trump and Epstein knew each other for decades and fell out in 2004 after a property deal. Trump has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. Epstein died in 2019 while awaiting trial. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
The exhibit is scheduled to run through May 21, 2026. [2, 3, 4, 5]
