Lego announced it will release a Sega Genesis console building set priced at $40 starting June 1, available in its online and physical stores across the US [1]. The set contains 479 pieces, including two detachable controllers about three inches wide, a mock Sonic and Tails game cartridge, and blocks that form a hidden Sonic portrait when assembled [1].

The completed Lego Sega Genesis model measures approximately 1.5 inches high, six inches wide, and 4.5 inches deep, replicating the original console's shape in miniature form [1]. To accommodate regional branding, the set features interchangeable decals allowing it to display "Genesis" branding for North America or "Mega Drive" for Japan and other markets [1].

This release follows Lego's previous gaming-themed sets, such as the Lego Game Boy and Nintendo Entertainment System, as well as a prior standalone Sega Genesis controller set sold separately [1]. The new box blends nostalgia and playability by letting fans build a detailed retro console with interactive mini controllers.

The set will go on sale on June 1 and is expected to appeal to both Lego collectors and classic Sega fans. It will be available for purchase through Lego's official website and store locations [1].
