Singapore police arrested a 56-year-old man after several car side windows were shattered and items were allegedly stolen near Tengah and Bukit Batok, with officers making the arrest within 13 hours of the first report. [1]

Police said they received several reports on May 3 about smashed car windows in the two areas. Officers from the Jurong Police Division identified the suspect and arrested him soon after. [1]

About $100 in cash was allegedly taken, and paper receipts were also reported stolen from one of the cars. Police said the man was expected to be charged on May 5 with theft, while investigations into mischief were still under way. [1]

Dr Choo Pei Ling said she was alerted to a "recent vandalism incident" at Block 112 Plantation Crescent carpark in Tengah and said affected car owners had been engaged and updated by police. She added that her team remained in close contact with the relevant agencies and would "continue to follow through as needed." [1]

One affected car owner said he had parked his vehicle at about 8pm the night before and found the window smashed the next morning, while another said he left his car at the carpark on May 1 and only returned after police alerted him at about 11am on May 3. Police were due to charge the man on May 5. [1]
