The National Day Parade (NDP) 2026 will be held on August 9 at the National Stadium, marking its return to the venue after 10 years [1, 2]. The event is themed "Majulah Singapura, Go Beyond!" and will feature an indoor drone show with about 300 drones, the largest indoor special effects presentation to date, more than double previous displays [1, 2].
For the first time, the presidential gun salute will be held at Kallang Basin instead of the stadium grounds [1, 2]. Safety and operational considerations mean the NDP will not include the usual crowd favorites such as the Red Lions parachute team, mobile column, and aerial military display [1, 2].
The parade also highlights its largest civilian participation in over a decade, involving about 2,000 performers from various community groups [1, 2]. The show segment will unfold across five chapters featuring local actors and singers, including Najip Ali, Ric Liu, Sushma Soma, and Jasmine Sokko [1, 2].
For the first time, an album with three new NDP songs will be released. The tracks are "Giants" by Iman Fandi, "Sparkle" by Gareth Fernandez and Dru Chen, and "You'll Be Okay" by Jasmine Sokko [1]. Footballer and singer Iman Fandi described the opportunity to perform as one he could not miss, saying, "I'll be able to carry the Singapore flag with pride, and that's all I want to do" [1].
The Parade will accommodate about 42,000 spectators, nearly double the capacity of the Padang venue used in recent years [2]. Brigadier-General Lim Han Yong said the National Stadium allowed designers to use the "entire vertical volume for a more breathtaking, immersive set design that complements the performers in all their different acts" [2].
In the lead-up to the event, public engagement activities include a nationwide treasure hunt called "Majulah Hunt" [1].
The NDP 2026 Executive Committee revealed these details on May 21 [1]. The Parade on August 9 will be the first National Day celebration to combine large-scale indoor drone effects with extensive community participation at the National Stadium after a decade.
