Dozens of Matthew Perry’s personal belongings, totaling around 130 lots, are being auctioned in the United States to benefit the Matthew Perry Foundation, which supports people struggling with addiction [1, 2]. The auction opened on June 5 and includes items spanning Perry’s life and career.
The collection features a range of objects such as scripts from the hit TV series "Friends," where Perry starred, as well as Perry’s Memorigin watch bearing a Batman emblem [1, 2]. It also includes high-profile Banksy artworks like "Girl with Balloon" and "Nola," with the pieces expected to fetch approximately USD 1 million [1, 2].
Roberta Kramer, representing the auction organizers, said the items cover "all kinds of things from the actor’s lifetime. Things relating to his work on Friends and other television shows and films, but a lot of very personal things too, from all the way from childhood to adulthood" [1]. Kramer added that Perry would be pleased to see his belongings devoted to supporting the foundation’s mission. She noted Perry founded the charity to use his celebrity and personal experience with substance abuse to help others [2].
Matthew Perry died in 2023 at age 54 after decades battling addictions, with his death ruled a ketamine overdose [1, 2]. Six people have been convicted in connection with his death. Five have been sentenced, while the sixth is expected to be sentenced this week [1, 2].
The auction proceeds will fund the Matthew Perry Foundation’s efforts to aid addiction recovery. The sentencing of the sixth convicted individual is scheduled for the week of June 14, 2026 [1, 2].
