SingPost unveiled a S$30 million automated parcel sorting facility at its regional e-commerce logistics hub in Tampines on June 9, 2026 [1, 2, 3, 4]. The new facility features two machines: a 3D sorter and an intelligent flexi sorter, which increase processing capacity for small and medium parcels from 100,000 to 300,000 parcels per day [2, 3, 4]. Together with existing capacity for large parcels, the total daily throughput at the Tampines hub now reaches 400,000 parcels [2, 3, 4].
The centralisation of sorting operations at one location aims to streamline parcel flow and reduce operational costs. SingPost CEO Mark Chong said, "This centralised, automated hub for parcels unlocks an improved operating model enabling us to move towards a highly flexible network that scales with market demand. These measures serve as levers to cut our cost-to-serve by more than 10 per cent" [2].
Minister for Digital Development and Information Josephine Teo launched the facility and noted the government's support. She said, "The government recognises the role SingPost plays and it will continue working closely with the group to ensure postal services are accessible and financially sustainable in the long term" [2].
In addition to the sorting facility, SingPost announced the expansion of its SingPost@MyBlock service, which allows residents to post letters and small parcels from letterbox nests within HDB estates and condominiums. The service launched in a trial in Punggol in October 2025 and expanded to Bukit Batok, Bukit Panjang, Marine Parade, and Upper Boon Keng since November 2025 [1].
SingPost@MyBlock will be rolled out islandwide in three phases from July 31 to September 30, 2026 [1]. After the rollout, more than 20,000 letterbox nests across Singapore will support next-day delivery for envelopes, postcards, and small packets like SmartPac and prepaid label mail deposited by 10 a.m. [1]. The service is not planned for landed housing or industrial estates at this time [1].
SingPost will maintain about 40 post offices and roughly 786 postboxes nationwide [1]. CEO Mark Chong also acknowledged that some street-side postboxes see low usage and said unused ones may be repurposed or removed in the future to avoid becoming eyesores [1].
On the day of the announcement, SingPost's shares rose 3.2% to S$0.32 at the noon market break [4].
The islandwide SingPost@MyBlock service expansion will continue through September 30, 2026, completing the rollout in three stages [1].
