Singapore Airlines will begin progressively introducing Starlink’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband on Airbus A350-900 long-haul, A350-900 ultra-long-range and A380 aircraft from the first quarter of 2027. [1]
The carrier said it expects the rollout to be completed by the end of 2029. [1]
Starlink’s Aero Terminal can support up to 1 Gbps per antenna, which the airline said would enable multi-gigabit connectivity for passengers. Singapore Airlines said the faster Wi-Fi should improve video streaming, gaming, social media sharing and large file transfers in all cabin classes. [1]
The airline will keep offering unlimited complimentary Wi-Fi on Starlink-enabled flights to Suites, First Class and Business Class passengers, along with PPS Club members and KrisFlyer members in Premium Economy and Economy. [1]
Singapore Airlines said more than 10,000 Starlink satellites have been launched into low Earth orbit. Senior Vice President Customer Experience Yeoh Phee Teik said: "Fast, seamless connectivity is, today, an essential part of the travel experience. Singapore Airlines already offers the world’s most comprehensive complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi across our entire fleet. Starlink will take this to the next level by delivering next-generation high-speed connectivity, enabling customers to stay entertained, connected, and productive throughout their journey, with a smoother and seamless experience from take-off to landing." The first aircraft are due to start the Starlink rollout in Q1 2027. [1]
