Singapore will open the final three Circle Line stations — Keppel, Cantonment, and Prince Edward Road — on July 12, 2026, closing the loop between HarbourFront and Marina Bay stations, the Land Transport Authority announced [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]. Acting Transport Minister Jeffrey Siow said the project will "bring the CCL Stage 6 project to completion" and that Singaporeans "have come full circle" with the new additions [1, 5].
These stations mark the completion of the Circle Line, which will extend to 39 km across 33 stations, including 12 interchange stops [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]. The six-kilometer Stage 6 segment was first announced in 2015 and originally scheduled to open in 2025, but delays due to Covid-19 disruptions and tunnel strengthening pushed the timeline into mid-2026 [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]. The stations were initially planned for the first half of 2026 before the final July date was confirmed.
The new stretch will ease congestion by shortening travel times and providing alternate routes that bypass busy interchanges like City Hall and Raffles Place [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]. For example, commuters traveling from Telok Blangah to Marina Bay currently must transfer between three lines but will soon complete this trip without transfers, saving around 10 minutes [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6].
Keppel station is located along Keppel Road and serves future residential and commercial developments in the Greater Southern Waterfront. It also improves connectivity to the nearby Keppel Distripark. The station is about 20 meters underground and has three entrances, linked by a 24-hour underpass [4].
Cantonment station sits beneath the former Tanjong Pagar Railway Station and serves the historic Tanjong Pagar area. It is 28 meters deep with four entrances connecting to landmarks such as the Singapore Art Museum and Everton Road, as well as the site of the future Tanjong Pagar Railway Station redevelopment [4].
Prince Edward Road station is in the Shenton Way business district, improving access for office workers and visitors. The station is 30 meters deep with two entrances connecting to nearby offices, residences, and landmarks including Hock Teck See Temple and Masjid Haji Muhammad Salleh [4].
The public will be able to preview the three new stations and ride free of charge on July 4 from 9.30 a.m. to 9 p.m [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]. SMRT operates the Circle Line Stage 6 segment and the new stations [5, 6].
