Grab will launch a new "streaks" bonus scheme for its ride-hailing drivers in Singapore on May 18, 2026, replacing the current special trip bonus program [1, 2]. The company had initially planned to introduce a streaks scheme in June 2025 but suspended it following complaints from full-time drivers and objections from the National Private Hire Vehicles Association about potential earnings reductions [1, 2].

Under the updated scheme, drivers book two-hour booking slots called "streaks." They must complete at least two trips within each slot and remain online for at least 70 percent of the time — about 1 hour and 24 minutes — to qualify for cashback rewards ranging from 5 to 8 percent per streak [1, 2]. Drivers can also earn weekly bonuses, for example, earning up to $160 if they complete 26 streaks in a week [1, 2].

The new streaks program has lower minimum trip requirements than the existing special trip bonus, which demands 7 to 16 trips on weekdays and 15 to 30 trips on weekends to qualify [1, 2]. The design aims to provide more flexible incentives for drivers.

Some drivers have expressed mixed views on the revamped bonus scheme. Mr Hiskandar Zulkarnaen said he believes he will earn lower bonuses if he spends the same amount of time driving under the new system [1]. Others feel that adjusting their driving habits to the new streak deadlines may keep their earnings stable [1, 2].

Grab briefed drivers about the new scheme both in-person at its Tampines service centre and via virtual Zoom sessions [1, 2]. Drivers were also notified of the launch in April through in-app messages [1, 2].

Grab halted the first attempted rollout of the streaks scheme in June 2025 after driver feedback and industry group concerns, then worked on revising the structure [1, 2]. The May 18 launch will mark the program’s official debut in this new form [1, 2].
