Burnley and Scott Parker have parted company by mutual consent after the club’s relegation from the Premier League was confirmed. Burnley lost 1-0 to Manchester City at Turf Moor and that defeat left them with 22 losses from 34 league games. [1]

The club finished 19th with 20 points and will play in the Championship next season alongside Wolverhampton Wanderers. Burnley said Parker and the board held talks after relegation was confirmed and agreed his time at Turf Moor would end. [1]

Parker leaves after one season in charge. Burnley said: "Following confirmation of the club’s relegation from the Premier League last week, Parker and the Board held discussions and mutually agreed that his time at Turf Moor would conclude." [1]

His exit comes after he led Burnley back to the top flight in 2024-25. The club won promotion from the Championship with a record 31-match unbeaten run and 30 clean sheets. [1]

Mike Jackson and the existing backroom staff will take interim charge for the rest of the season. Burnley gave no further details on a permanent replacement. [1]
