Villagers found a woman in her 20s dead at about 12:30am on May 1 near a roadside in Kampung Kubang Kiat, Ketereh, Kota Bharu, with 61 stab wounds and her body covered in blood. [1]
Police said the victim had no identification documents, but fingerprint checks by the National Registration Department confirmed who she was. Officers said initial findings suggest she was killed elsewhere before her body was dumped at the spot where she was found. [1]
The wounds were concentrated on the right side of her body and ran from her face to her feet, police said. She was wearing a necklace engraved with the name “SYAA”, a bracelet on her left wrist, a ring on her right middle finger, a beaded bracelet, glasses and a scarf when she was found. [1]
Police sent a K9 unit to search a 30-meter radius around the discovery site for more evidence. They also moved the body to Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II for a post-mortem examination. [1]
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. Police asked anyone with information to contact investigating officer Assistant Superintendent Ganesan. [1]
