UMNO said its online registration system drew 13,954 new membership applications since it launched on 22 April 2026, as the party pushed to streamline sign-ups and remove traditional barriers to entry. [1]

UMNO secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said the Youth wing had the highest number of applications, followed by Puteri and Wanita. [1] He said that as of 8am on the reporting day, Youth had 8,233 applications, Puteri had 1,290 and Wanita had 1,240. [1] Asyraf added, "Based on statistics as of 8am this morning, the Youth wing recorded the highest number with 8,233 members, followed by Puteri (1,290) and Wanita (1,240)." [1]

He said Johor recorded the highest number of new registrations, followed by Pahang and Perak. [1] Asyraf also said the party could see applicants "queuing in large numbers" as early as 8.30am and said the upward trend was happening almost every day. [1]
