The Magistrates’ Court in Kuala Lumpur fixed Dec. 1 and 2 for the full trial of police officer Sheila Sharon Steven Kumar, known as “Inspector Sheila,” after the Attorney General’s Chambers rejected her representation, the court said. [1]
Magistrate Aina Azahra Arifin said, “The full trial is fixed for two days on December 1 and 2,” as the case was moved toward hearing. [1]
Sheila, 38, is accused of obstructing a police officer from carrying out duty outside a restaurant in Dang Wangi in November last year. The charge is framed under Section 186 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum jail term of 2 years, a fine of RM10,000, or both. [1]
The alleged incident happened on Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, Dang Wangi, between 8.15pm and 8.30pm, according to the court record. [1]
Sheila has been suspended from duty since June 23, 2023. The officer she is accused of obstructing was 37 at the time of the alleged incident. [1]
