Yong Pitt Lok, 48, a director of a steamboat restaurant chain, was charged with criminal breach of trust (CBT) for allegedly misappropriating about RM1.47 million from company funds to his personal bank account.

The offence reportedly occurred between March 11 and October 24, 2024, at Jalan Radin Bagus 8, Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur. The accused pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur on May 21, 2026 [1, 2].

The charge falls under Section 409 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment, whipping, and a fine upon conviction [3, 4, 1, 2].

Deputy public prosecutor proposed bail at RM120,000 in one surety, but Yong's defence counsel Lee Keng Fatt appealed for a lower bail citing his client's family responsibilities and cooperation. Lee said, "My client poses no flight risk and has given good cooperation to the police throughout the investigation. He also never failed to appear when called three times to give his statement. We request the court not to impound my client’s passport as he needs it to travel abroad for business matters. We seek bail of about RM50,000" [2].

Judge Azrul Darus allowed bail at RM50,000 in one surety, lower than the prosecution's proposal [1, 2]. The court set June 26, 2026, for the next mention of the case [1, 2].
