A 19-year-old college student was found murdered with 61 stab wounds in Ketereh on May 1, and police said jealousy was the suspected motive. [1]
Kelantan Police Chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat said investigators believe the killing followed an argument between the victim and her 19-year-old boyfriend, who is the main suspect. He said police think the victim was stabbed in the suspect's car after the dispute, and added, "Police believe jealousy was the motive for the victim’s murder. Initial investigations indicate that there was an argument between the victim and the suspect, which led to her death. She is believed to have been stabbed while in the suspect’s car. With the arrest of the main suspect, police believe the murder case has been solved." [1]
Police said the boyfriend told investigators he suspected the victim was having an affair. [1]
Two other people were also detained to help with the inquiry: the victim's teenage friend and the suspect's parents, who are 66 and 60. [1]
