On May 24, officers raided the hotel and detained 51 men, seizing drugs valued at approximately RM103,070 including 1.15kg of MDMA liquid, 284g of MDMA solid, ecstasy pills and powder, and ketamine [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. Preliminary investigations indicate the drugs were for personal use shared among party attendees, with no evidence so far of distribution or trafficking [1, 2, 3, 4, 5].
Among those arrested, 17 were charged under Section 39B for serious drug offences, one under Section 39A(1), and 33 under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. The Chinese national organiser faces charges under Sections 12(2) and 15(1)(a) of the same Act [1, 2, 3, 4, 5].
During the raid, a man was found unconscious and later pronounced dead upon arrival at Kuala Lumpur Hospital [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. Police are awaiting the official medical cause of death [1, 2, 3, 4, 5].
Separately, a 28-second viral TikTok video claimed that Melaka police were escorting foreign nationals in Tanjung Minyak, but authorities clarified the video was edited from two different locations [6, 7, 8]. Police confirmed the footage of a vehicle exiting a junction was near Masjid Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakub in Tanjung Minyak without escorting any convoy [6, 7, 8]. The vehicles of foreign nationals shown were recorded elsewhere, causing public confusion [6, 7, 8].
