The murder investigation of 19-year-old college student Nurfisya Zulkifly now centers on two teenage boys, police said today. An elderly couple previously arrested in connection with the case have been released on police bail [1].
Nurfisya, a third-semester Diploma in Early Childhood Education student, was found dead at 12:20 a.m. last Friday on a road near a rice field in Ketereh [1]. The autopsy revealed she died from multiple stab wounds to her chest, with 61 stab wounds found on her body and face [1].
Police detained four individuals to assist with the investigation between 4:40 p.m. Friday and 2:30 a.m. Saturday. The group included two teenagers aged 19 and an elderly couple aged 60 and 66 [1].
The elderly couple were released on bail on Saturday, while the two teenage boys were remanded for seven days starting that same day by the Magistrate’s Court [1].
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. Authorities are also examining the victims’ motive [1].
The next development in the case is expected following the boys’ remand period, which ends later this week.
