Melaka police detained four teenage boys, aged 15 to 16, on April 30 over an alleged bullying incident at Rumah Anak Yatim Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Al Haj Pantai Puteri orphanage. [1]
The alleged victim was said to have been assaulted, kicked, had his head forced into a bucket of water and was dragged across a toilet floor, police said. [1]
The case began after the victim’s mother lodged a police report at about 7:11pm on April 29 over the bullying. [1]
Police said all four suspects are secondary school students with no prior criminal records and that urine screening tests came back negative. [1]
The suspects were released on police bail after their statements were recorded to help the investigation. [1]
Police are investigating the case under Section 507B of the Malaysian Penal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of 3 years in prison, a fine, or both. [1]
