A 28-year-old woman was arrested after she was seen carrying a knife at the Rain Rave Water Music Festival in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, on the final night of the three-day event on May 3. [1, 2, 3, 4]

A viral video showed bystanders restraining her, including a man holding her arm, before police arrived and took her into custody. Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said, "This woman was detained for further investigation, and we will seek a remand order against her tomorrow (Sunday). Police charged the woman under Section 6(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act for carrying an offensive weapon in a public place. If convicted, she faces 5 to 10 years in jail, plus whipping. [2, 3]

The court ordered her to undergo psychiatric evaluation at Hospital Bahagia in Ulu Kinta, Perak, after concerns over her mental health. Police said the festival drew about 30,000 people on its final night and ran in an orderly manner over 3 days from May 1 to May 3, with about 500 officers deployed each night.
