A 10-year-old boy, Jayden Leong Zhi Yung, died following a collision at about 10:35 pm on May 1 at Kilometre 29.4 of Jalan Ipoh-Kuala Lumpur, police said [1].
The boy was seated in the front passenger seat of a Perodua Bezza when the crash occurred. The other vehicle involved was a Toyota Hilux driven by a 44-year-old man travelling from Ipoh to Kampar [1].
Police confirmed that the Hilux driver was detained for further investigation after a preliminary urine test found him positive for marijuana. Superintendent Mohamad Nazri Daud said, "A preliminary urine test found the driver to be positive for marijuana," according to the report [1].
The crash also involved a Perodua Myvi and left two other people injured, including a 13-year-old passenger who sustained head and leg injuries [1].
Authorities sent Jayden's body for a post-mortem examination the day after the accident, on May 2, when the police detained the Hilux driver [1].
