Five vehicles caught fire early Sunday morning at a ground-floor parking area of a flat on Jalan Perak in Penang, causing extensive damage to the cars and part of the garage structure. Firefighters arrived shortly after a 4:30 a.m. emergency call and brought the blaze under control by 4:38 a.m., fully extinguishing it at 5:09 a.m. [1]
The vehicles involved were a Nissan Grand Livina, Mitsubishi Xpander, Perodua Myvi, Toyota Hiace van, and Proton Prevé. Damage to the vehicles ranged between five and 80 percent, while roughly half of the garage structure was destroyed by the fire. [1]
