A fire broke out early on May 13 at a double-storey house in Parit 310, Bagan Tiang near Parit Buntar, Malaysia [1, 2]. Firefighters from the Parit Buntar and Kuala Kurau stations, assisted by the Parit Buntar Volunteer Fire Brigade, responded to the emergency [1, 2]. The fire was brought under control by 3:00 a.m. and fully extinguished by 6:25 a.m. after several hours of effort [2].

The blaze destroyed approximately 70% of the house, and a Proton Iriz car parked at the residence suffered similar damage, with around 70% destroyed [1, 2]. Emergency crews found the body of a 48-year-old disabled woman inside the home [1, 2]. Her 71-year-old mother sustained injuries to both soles of her feet and received treatment from the Ministry of Health [1, 2]. The injured mother and the deceased were handed over to police and health authorities respectively for further handling [1, 2].

Seventeen firefighters participated in the operation to put out the fire [2]. The cause of the fire and the full extent of the material losses remain under investigation [2].

An emergency call for the fire was received at 2:34 a.m., triggering the response from firefighting teams who worked continuously until the fire was fully extinguished [1, 2].
