A 32-year-old factory worker named Muhamad Nur Hakimi Mohd Haris from Felda Sungai Sibol, Kulai died after losing consciousness while descending Gunung Lambak in Kluang district on May 3 [1].
The incident happened at about 800 metres altitude from the base of the mountain when Muhamad was descending with three friends [1]. Rescue teams from the police, Fire and Rescue Department, and Civil Defence Force responded promptly after a distress call was received at 1:42 pm [1].
Heavy rain complicated the rescue operation. ACP Bahrin Mohd Noh said, "Heavy rain complicated the operation and Muhamad Nur Hakimi was brought down at about 6.15pm, and was pronounced dead by a medical assistant officer" [1].
Muhamad Nur Hakimi was pronounced dead around 6:15 pm after being brought down from the mountain [1]. His body was then taken to Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital for forensic examination [1].
