A 25-year-old businesswoman in Taman Scientex Jasin Mutiara, Melaka, was allegedly targeted in an intimidation case tied to a suspected illegal moneylender, police said. [1]

The incident happened about 2pm on Saturday, May 2, 2026, when unknown individuals threw a bottle of chilli sauce in front of her house and hurled a brick at the windscreen of her Proton Persona, police said. [1]

Investigators said the woman had taken two loans through WhatsApp from the suspected lender. The first was RM10,000 in mid-April, of which she received RM6,500 in stages and later made repayments. The second was RM20,000, with RM15,000 paid out in instalments and a fixed repayment schedule. [1]

The harassment worsened after she allegedly failed to meet repayment demands. Police said she was then threatened with exposure of her personal details and pictures of her family home. [1]

Three written notices demanding debt settlement were found at the scene on the day of the attack, police said. [1]

The victim lodged a police report on May 4, 2026, saying she feared for her own safety and that of her family. Jasin District Police are investigating the case under Section 5(2) of the Moneylenders Act 1951 for harassment of borrowers. [1]
