The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) has allocated RM60.1 million in Loan Advance Payment (WPP) assistance to 40,099 new diploma students enrolling at public universities (IPTAs) and polytechnics for the June 2026 intake [1, 2, 3, 4].
Each eligible student will receive RM1,500 through the WPP to help cover part of their initial expenses related to higher education enrollment. PTPTN chairman Datuk Seri Norliza Abdul Rahim said, "This WPP initiative is intended to help cover part of the expenses incurred in the initial preparations of new students entering public universities and polytechnics," emphasizing the corporation's commitment to supporting students regardless of socioeconomic background [1, 2].
Students eligible for the WPP must agree to receive the facility when applying for admission via UPUOnline or their respective public university portals. Eligibility criteria include having parents or guardians enrolled in the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) cash assistance programme, targeting support to lower-income households [1, 2, 3, 4].
Since its introduction in 1999, the WPP facility has benefited 999,838 students up to April 30, 2026, with a total allocation of RM1.48 billion. Students can check their WPP offer status on the myPTPTN mobile application and redeem the facility at Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB) branches nationwide [1, 2, 3, 4].
The WPP offer for this June 2026 intake is valid for two months, from June 10 until August 9, 2026. Students seeking PTPTN education loans can apply online through the myPTPTN application according to schedules set by their respective institutions. Applicants must also have a National Education Savings Scheme (Simpan SSPN) account, which can be opened via the myPTPTN app [1, 2, 3, 4].
Datuk Seri Norliza reiterated PTPTN's mission, stating, "The corporation remains committed to ensuring access to higher education for all Malaysians regardless of socioeconomic background" [2]. The disbursement will continue during the validity period, allowing students ample time to claim their advance loan assistance.
