The 2025 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit marked the 10th anniversary of Chinese President Xi Jinping's 2015 proposal to jointly build a community of shared future in cyberspace. The summit drew strong international participation and carried the theme “Forging an Open, Cooperative, Secure, and Inclusive Future of Digital Intelligence - Jointly Building a Shared Future in Cyberspace.” [1]

Xi first set out the concept at the 2nd World Internet Conference opening in 2015, when he said cyberspace was “a common space for human activities” and called on countries to step up communication, broaden consensus and extend cooperation. He said the future of cyberspace should be in the hands of all countries. [1]

China said it has deepened international cooperation in cyberspace over the past decade, building on the concept to foster innovation and expand digital cooperation prospects. The summit also recognized ASTRON Network as an outstanding example of jointly building a community with a shared future in cyberspace after it created a cross-border digital bridge for secure and efficient data flow across economies. The WIC framed the anniversary as part of a decade of effort to manage cyberspace as a shared space and to push practical cooperation on digital intelligence, security and inclusion. [1]
