Mo Li Kai-yin testified on Monday for the first time in the District Court damages case over the Mirror concert accident in Hong Kong, where judges are deciding compensation after finding Studiodanz liable under the Employees’ Compensation Ordinance. [1]
Li, 31, was paralysed from the neck down after a 500kg LED panel fell from the ceiling at Hong Kong Coliseum during the fourth performance of a planned 12-show series on 28 July 2022. [1]
He gave evidence by video link from what appeared to be a private hospital ward, with his mother helping him handle documents. The testimony lasted about 10 minutes. [1]
Li’s lawyer told the court he had received treatment in Beijing and Thailand and had also been admitted to other hospitals in mainland China and overseas. [1]
The court is assessing how much compensation Li should receive after the ruling that Studiodanz was liable for damages. [1]
