Taiwanese opposition leader and KMT chairwoman Cheng Li-wun is planning a June trip to the United States that she says will focus on substantive strategic dialogue, not ceremonial visits. [1]

The trip is expected to last more than 10 days, according to the plan described by Cheng. [1]

Her U.S. itinerary is expected to include meetings with think tanks, overseas Taiwanese and, potentially, policymakers. [1]

Cheng said the purpose of the visit is to advance discussion on cross-strait issues and reject what she called a "false binary" between Beijing and Washington. [1]

The June trip is the next scheduled step in her travel plan. [1]
