A courtyard house at No 1 Jiangqiandeng in Luozhou town, Cangshan district, Fuzhou, has been named one of China's 25 National Security Education Bases since April, turning a once-crumbling residence into a national pilgrimage site. [1]

The house had long been a neglected relic that housed nearly a dozen families before its recent rise in status, according to the report. [1]

The renewed focus comes as mainland China sees a surge of interest in what the report calls "invisible martyrs," including Wu Shi, a KMT defector who was executed in Taipei in 1950. [1]

Wu's fate has helped drive attention to wartime and Cold War espionage figures in recent years, with the Fuzhou residence now presented as part of that public memory. [1]

The designation places the site among 25 national security education bases and gives it an official role in public education and commemoration. [1]
