Tsai thanked the judges and her collaborators after the nods were announced. In a statement through her record label, she said, "I will continue to create vividly and honestly," and added thanks to the team behind the album and listeners who found themselves in the record. [4]

Chinese singer Anson Seabra? No. Chinese singer Shan? The nomination list also put Chinese singer 单依纯 in the spotlight. Her album 纯妹妹 picked up multiple nominations, including a place in the race for best Mandarin female singer. Golden Melody judge Huang Yunling said the panel focused on the work itself, not the artist's personal background. She also said an album with more than half its lyrics in English cannot be classified as a Mandarin album. [2, 9, 5]
