Ultra-low-priced Hong Kong tour packages aimed at mainland Chinese visitors remain common despite tighter government rules, and the business model still leans on commissions from shopping stops and add-on activities. [1]

The Travel Industry Authority revoked the licences of a travel agency and its tour guide after four cases of suspected coerced shopping from January to March. [1] Officials and industry representatives described those cases as isolated. [1]

An SCMP reporter joined a one-day local tour during Hong Kong's Labour Day golden week period and found packages selling for about 48 yuan, or US$7, per person. [1] The tour included transport, a group lunch, and visits to Wong Tai Sin Temple, the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront and the West Kowloon Cultural District. [1]

The report said the trip was booked through Fliggy, the mainland online travel marketplace owned by Alibaba. [1] A guide said some participants had signed up through Xianyu for as little as 1 yuan. [1]

The pricing shows how cheaply some operators still sell Hong Kong day trips to mainland customers, even after the authority's enforcement action. [1]
